Each Painting – A Discovery!

As an admirer of art, especially by children and young adults, I am discovering breathtaking work ever so often. Here is an inspiring story and some verses from my archives that found the perfect fit in paintings by Debarghya Chaudhuri.

Sixteen years old, Debarghya is searching for purpose through art. His art is crazy and real. Debarghya, a happy and energetic teenager from Gurugram, India, is on the autism spectrum. Tangled Vines

Trumpet Flowers

Where the vine tangles
Trumpet flowers grow in
Peachy, blissful, innocence
Sweet, balmy fragrance
Covering a vast facade
Of suffocating branches
So in life, beauty captivates
Even as breathless leaves
Perish gently in the breeze

Rainbows

Rainbow

Black and white rainbows
Arched beneath eyebrows
Glowing across eyelids
In monochromatic glimpses
Fluttering on eyelashes
Visions of colorful splashes
Why can’t we see beauty
In unshaded symmetry
Why do our hearts crave
For spectrums uncreated

Bleed Red

These #lines have been filling my mind since morning because I am speechless at what’s happening in our world. I have no other way to explain the overwhelming desperation I am feeling.

From tanned, barren, lonely lands
Blows blinding dust of Afghanistan
Women smothered in black tears
Children born shadowed by fears
Of a future so distant, so unknown
Life so petty, all hope so forlorn
Who are the Gods orchestrating
Men at endless wars devastating
Where poppy fields bleed red
Staining shrouds of the undead
Opium dreams fill terror nights
Where gloom sells as paradise
How humanity sleeps in peace
When hearts beat with unease

Balloon Man

Balloon Man

The balloon man
With helium-filled
Quirky designs
Much like life
Twisted, tied
Waiting to float
Into azure skies
Alas! The master holds
The strings tight!
