Inner child

A lonely childhood,
Peers outside a window
Tracing frost fairies
On the rimy glass
Whispering a wish
For tender icicle streaks
To take her far far away!

Her dreams grow wings
Of gossamer butterflies;
She touches them –
Powdery dust crumbles
In tiny, empty hands
Shimmering like stars
That wrote her destiny

I received some lovely feedback on this piece today.

Lagoon

Lagoon

In the lagoon of your eyes
I have lost myself
Surrounded by shimmer
Sinking in the depths
I am colored blue
I am washed in green
Like shadows, reflections
That slide down slowly
With tears of exuberance
As wishes blown gently
On wings of eyelashes!

Wings of a Human

Wings of a Human

If I could fly
What feathers to adorn;
A tint of pearl
A hint of zircon
Fragment of an angel
Sliver of the Devil
Shades of spring
Depths of autumn
Silver of a dandelion
Gold blush of dawn
Intricately woven
As wings of a human
To cross the far horizon!
