Bird’s nest

#SenseWrds is an interesting #writing #prompt as it challenges the #writer to not include the given prompt words. Here is my take on the three words – hollow, street, and winding. #VisualArt is generated using Wombo Dream AI.

They ran through the alleys
Children, free of all care;
For a game of hide-and-seek
In the yonder orchard
They stopped a bit for a peek
In the hole of the tree trunk
Where a bird had laid eggs
They climbed up to branches
Bursting with succulent fruit;
Then, scrambled down hurriedly
Before being caught red-handed

All of me

Poetry inspired by the #LoveLetters prompt

Loneliness is magical
Dewy tears in a dark space
Conjuring images of you;
Breathless whispers turn
To a white noise, yet
Sleep eludes, and I embrace
Another wakeful night.
When the fog rolls in
The mist kisses all of me
Warm, clammy, musky.
Wild scents of promises
Permeates, as muted sighs
Only to remind of tenderness
And endless snuggles
Under winter afghans!

Coffee makes everything okay

#FromOneLine 268 ☆  Friday Challenge

The Friday Challenge #FromOneLine prompt is apt for a coffee lover like me.

She liked her coffee sweet
With a dash of cinnamon spice
Flavored with the sleepy silence
Of a pristine day peeping out
Of the blanket of dawn light
A tender sip awakens the soul
With a potion offering succor
In this moment, warm with hope
It does not matter that
The world was made of ice

Candlelight dreams

#LoveLetters prompt 12/18

On the yonder hilltop
A cottage enveloped
In silver sheets of rain
Carrying the prickly touch
And the aroma of pine trees
I sit by the window
Feeling the drops graze
Dusty tiles on the roof
An open book in hand
I nestle in the lap
Of candlelight dreams
As time comes to a halt!

Starlight

#FromOneLine ☆  Friday Challenge  ☆

If anyone had been watching
The stars are brighter tonight
They sway in sparkly hammocks
To tunes of whispered cries
Wish upon a star, they said
For dreams can be fulfilled
By twinkly drops of cosmic light;
I, too, looked up at the brilliance
To catch a truant starling in flight
My pleas fizzled in its fiery demise;
I turned away, sad, despondent
But I found it in my pocket.
