Promises

The memory is still ablaze
Of delicate papyrus etched
With indelible poetry;
Pages glowing in a luminous
Chemistry of the first gaze
A medley of words whisper,
Buzzing neon promises
That flutter like fireflies
In a momentary daze
Until they are all gone!

Starlight

I returned from a holiday in the mountains. So here’s an inspired #poem for @TopTweetTuesday.

In intoxicated slumber
An upturned firmament
Rains luminous starlight;
I burst in fluorescent flames
Like a million fiery fireflies
With minuscule fluttering lives!

Fireflies

Fireflies

Wistful swirl of tiny wishes
Like embers of a dying bonfire
Today a sparkle, ashes tomorrow
Unspoken, unmet, broken yet
Alive, throbbing in a heart
That still believes in fireflies!
