What are we but fragile jars
Of intricate masonry
Does the Creator carve us all
On a whim and fancy!
Loaded to the brim; half-empty still
Stained glass or run-of-the-mill?
Crystal walls, what potion fills
Labelled to hide bitter pills?
Sugared candies, mushy jellies
Milky relish, chocolate drizzles
Pungent, zesty, tangy, savory
Aroma, flavors, colors many
Like sticky, sweet memories
Or just vitreous fantasies
Closed tight, gently pried
On a high shelf or place of pride
All our lives, handling with care
Until shattered beyond repair!
